SAP & XPhone: Communication made easy

Simple, direct and straightforward: this is how communication works at SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Stahlcenter AG. The Swiss steel trading company relies on the Unified Communications solution XPhone Connect for this. What does this mean in practice?

"In each enterprise there are applications, which co-determine the everyday work life. For us, that's SAP," explains IT Manager Marco Muggli. "Thanks to XPhone Connect, SAP is very closely integrated into our communications. When a person calls that is stored in SAP, the colleagues in the dashboard see not only the name and company of the caller, but also his customer number. With one click, they can then open the contact directly in SAP."

Employees don't just have to ask for the name and customer number, they also don't have to search in SAP – saving valuable time every day.

The presence management also offers a great gain in terms of time savings: The Team-Panel clearly displays which employee is currently in an appointment and who is on the phone. "If I need information from a colleague who is currently in a longer telephone conference, I simply write him a chat message. This can often be answered quickly in between," reports Muggli. 

The Team-Panel not only guarantees an overview of presence and availability, but also enables targeted call management: conversations can be forwarded directly via the Team-Panel or incoming calls can be picked up from colleagues. 

All of these functions can also be used in the home office. AnyDevice can be used to control any telephone – whether mobile or landline – with the Connect client. The office number is always signaled to the other party.
