Unify certifies XPhone as world's first UC solution for OpenScape

As the world's first independent UC application, Unify has certified the XPhone™ Unified Communications all-in-one solution for OpenScape Business and OpenScape 4000. Within the framework of certification, the call manager (CTI) and integration of the Unified Messaging services (fax, voicemail) in particular were tested. One particular feature of the all-in-one solution offered by UC specialist C4B Com For Business AG is its flexibility: companies can use XPhone across various locations and systems.

Within the framework of certification, various breakdown scenarios were tested as well as the CTI functions, e.g. automatic resumption of the application when parts of the infrastructure fail. Smooth test runs were followed by immediate confirmation of XPhone certification which applies for the latest versions of OpenScape Business and OpenScape 4000, thereby reflecting the broad target group for XPhone: the UC solution is equally suitable for smaller and medium-sized companies and major clients.

As a general rule, XPhone supports all OpenScape und HiPath PBX systems making it particularly suitable for cross-location and cross-system applications. This communication solution can also be used for non-networked systems – independent of the respective software release status. PBX systems offered by third parties can also be easily integrated. This flexibility enables even companies with an extremely heterogeneous technical base to deploy a uniform communication solution throughout their company, dispensing with additional investments in upgrading hardware and software.

Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) and Unified Communications (UC) make it possible for companies to design their communication processes significantly more efficiently. Apart from presence management and availability status displays, in-depth integration in business applications such as ERP and CRM promises to streamline the processes over the long term. Accordingly, XPhone not only identifies all callers whose contact data has been stored in corporate applications.
