At CeBIT 2012 the focus of C4B’s presence at the fair is on the recent Service Release 2 of XPhone Unified Communications 2011.
With this new version the telephony and communication solution from C4B
is enhanced with many new features. Thus, for example, it can now be
directly connected via CSTA interface both to OmniPCX Enterprise and
OmniPCX Office systems from Alcatel-Lucent as well as to Avaya PBXs.
With the XPhone solutions this was previously only possible for all
Siemens PBX systems and Cisco UC 500. The manufacturer states that this
simplifies the set-up process and ensures more stable operation. Now
connections to Siemens HiPath 4000 PBXs from V6 onwards can also be
carried out without a CAP server. "By using the CSTA protocol an
additional TAPI driver is no longer needed and you only have to provide
the IP address of the PBX. This makes setting up XPhone Express even
easier and users benefit directly from the powerful telephony functions
of the solution,” said Marko Gatzemeier, Marketing Manager of C4B.
For mobile workers C4B presents enhanced mobile phone integration with
photo display. The web-based user interface for smartphones has been
improved and new functions added. Now you can easily decide whether to
set up calls directly via the mobile or using the one-number function
via the company PBX.
In future the XPhone UC Server can be used as a stand-alone TAPI Service Provider (TSP) to provide third-party applications an interface to the PBX. According to the manufacturer, the TAPI server demonstrates a particularly high degree of flexibility: it is possible, for example, to use the same TAPI interface across numerous locations with different PBXs. The TAPI software is also suitable for use in terminal server environments, is independent of Windows domains and in addition to a 32-bit version is also available in a 64-bit version that can be used both on Windows workstations as well as Windows 2003/2008 servers.
XPhone Unified Communications 2011
SR2 is available from late February 2012 and is offered as a free
update for existing customers. All innovations will also be shown live
at CeBIT.
Other new products from C4B at CeBIT 2012 include
long-term fax archiving for XPhone UC Fax, new functions for the
automatic call centre XPhone UC Auto Attendant, such as royalty-free
waiting music, and the CTI single workstation solution XPhone Express 2011
for small firms and offices. At CeBIT 2012 C4B is also presenting the
recent Service Release 2 of the central web directory service XPhone Virtual Directory 2011.
In future the product innovation XPhone Virtual Directory, available since autumn 2010, can be used as a stand-alone product to access all company contacts on the go from any smartphone or tablet PC. In addition, in future other data sources can also be connected. Public and private contacts from Lotus Notes can then be integrated just as easily as Outlook contacts now. Virtual Directory also makes it possible to connect the web service of The Phone Book for Germany, with around 30 million records, or the Herold phone book for Austria. Another technical innovation is integrated proximity searching, which works together with CTI software to display the company record for caller ID of unkown extension numbers. Also possible in future is the prioritisation and grouping of address books.
