At the Cisco live! in Milan, C4B Com For Business AG is presenting XPhone Virtual Directory as a new solution for the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) enabling access to CRM and ERP systems as well as databases and cloud services.
With immediate effect and in the form of XPhone Virtual Directory, the Munich-based software manufacturer C4B Com For Business AG enables integration of a variety of company contact data in Cisco infrastructures. Cisco users can therefore avail of company contacts from databases, applications and cloud services for their Jabber client and IP phones offering improved communication with their customers, partners and suppliers. While searches for contact data in the Jabber client are restricted to personal contact data, Cisco users availing of XPhone Virtual Directory now have access to practically all company contacts. With the result that users can now also avail of public Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes contacts as well as contact data from company applications such as SAP, Microsoft CRM/NAV or many other CRM or ERP applications. And it is also possible to integrate contacts from conventional databases (e.g. ODBC, MySQL, SQL) and cloud services such as "Das Telefonbuch Deutschland" or "Google Apps for Business".
Contact data forms the basis for all types of company communication. In order to communicate with customers, partners and suppliers, fast and easy access to contact data is important. This information is typically distributed across various applications and databases. Apart from real-time access to all of this contact data, software from C4B also offers a free-text search enabling searches of all data sources. And enabling users in the Cisco Jabber client to search in "Taxi Munich" or "Sales MyCompany", for example, whereby all data such as name, company, department, customer number etc. is searched. Exclusion criteria can also be considered in the search. Integrated phone number conversion automatically ensures that all data can be used for making phone calls, regardless of the format in which the data is saved in the databases.
Furthermore, the data from the affiliated company applications supports caller ID in the caller pop-up and in the call journal – making unknown callers a thing of the past for Cisco users.
PCs are often not available in many departments and areas such as workstations in the factory, warehouse, conference room or canteen. Thanks to XPhone Virtual Directory and independent of the PC, users can also search all company data sources directly at the Cisco phone and use them for making phone calls. XPhone Virtual Directory supports the "Cisco IP Phone Services" interface and is available for IP phones in the 78xx, 79xx and 99xx series.
XPhone Virtual Directory is installed on the server side, whereby no modifications are made to the Jabber client – making the service available to all users with immediate effect. Database field mapping is easily possible with preconfigured standard mapping for frequently-used data sources or via a graphic administration interface via drag & drop. Database fields can also be easily compiled or taken apart.
