Hardware swap
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SWAP HARDWARE
1. Download & install software
First download the XPhone Connect software: To download the software
Install the software on the new hardware. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard
2. Determine MAC address and/or hardware ID
Swapping the XPhone system hardware requires the MAC address and/or hardware ID of your current XPhone server and that of the future server.
XPhone Connect
The hardware ID can be found in the administration interface of the XPhone Connect server at:
System settings > Licences > Licence management > Import licence package
Please note
the hardware ID.
XPhone Unified Communications, XPhone Virtual Directory, XPhone Essentials or Octopus Desk
Determine the MAC address (physical address) by opening the command line on your current system and entering the following command:
ipconfig /all
Please note the MAC address.
3. Move licences to new hardware
Licence code to hand
Moving your XPhone licences from one item of hardware to another requires a licence code for the licences already available which can be found in your licence certificate received by e-mail.
Select hardware swap
Click Next and enter your licence code and the security code shown before clicking Next.
Enter licence code
You will receive a message that your licences have already been called and you now have the possibility to call the licence again or implement a hardware swap.
The hardware swap can only be continued after confirmation that the licences are to be moved to new hardware.
Confirm by clicking the link in the e-mail.
Following confirmation, you can implement the hardware swap within 24 hours.
Enter new hardware ID or MAC address
Click Next and enter the new hardware ID or MAC address of the server to which the licences are to be moved. Then click Next again.
Register licences for new hardware
Finally, you will receive a summary of the licences to be moved to the new hardware.
If all the details are correct, please click Generate and deliver licence.
You will then
receive an e-mail containing the corresponding licence (XML) file.
4. Activate licence
Open administration interface
XPhone Connect
Open the administration interface of your XPhone Connect server and open licence management:
System settings > Licences > Licence management > Import licence package
Load the saved licence file (.xml) on the XPhone server and click Import to install the licences.

Install the licence file by opening the administration interface of your XPhone server and opening licence management:
System settings > Licences > Licence management > Import licence package
Load the saved licence file (.xml) on the XPhone server and click Import to install the licences.
